ok, so here’s the problem…. I didn’t take a before picture. I don’t even know why. Maybe I did… I just can’t find it. I need to show you this so if I find the before I will add it later. Did I mention I NEED to show you this one?
I worked hard on it…. HARD. It came out beautifully and I am so pleased… but it was touch and go for a while….
Have you ever started something and then realized maybe it’s not going to look like you imagined? I did the top on this one and it took a long time… like weeks.
I love this stencil. L.O.V.E. it. It’s all french phrases of adoration. “I like your sense of humor, you make me laugh, you tell interesting things, I love your smile, I adore you” Who wouldn’t want to hear that? This stencil is not made to be repeated. In other words, you can’t just do it, then line it up and keep going. Want to know when I discovered this? Yep… after I already did the first WHOLE THING, and then went to just keep going. Maybe I should have checked this before I started? Probably… but like most things I do, I dove right in…. lesson learned. It was an enormous pain in the neck, and totally worth it now.. that it’s over….
Anyway, I did the top and I love it. Then I painted the sides… and I hated it. H.A.T.E.D. it It was horrid. It was dull and boring and flat. I was so very sad. I had worked so hard on it.
ok, I put the drawers in. and the hardware on…. it came together… and it was… well, you tell me…
…what do you think?

September 14, 2013 at 11:39 AMThank you Kathy! The translation I was using was loose. I figured it would be different (and more beautiful if you ask me) if someone could actually read French. 🙂

November 21, 2017 at 9:26 PMHi Scottie! I made one post already under another piece and I have to say, I am now all over your page and pinning everything! lol. I have just purchased 3 smaller pieces and Im excited to get started on making them beautiful! As a newbie, do you have any tips for priming pieces that are veneer or laminate? Im so nervous to get started for fear the paint won’t adhere properly and I will have mess on my hands. I purchased some cans of zinsser primer and bonder as it seems to be a favorite among Pinners. Any tips and advice would be sO appreciated. Feel free to email me if that is easier for you! Thank you again for posting all your work!!
