Furniture re-dos van Gogh collection

Upcycle Contest Finished

You’ll recall I posted a before picture of some pieces I picked up at Habitat for Humanity to participate in their Upcycling Contest. (see post here)

I’m done! I know you were on the edge of your seat waiting…right?

Cute, don’t ‘cha think? What is it you ask? Oh yea, here’s a peek:

Yes, I did it. A dress-up cabinet. I am SO happy with the way it turned out!! I love the colors, I love the way it looks plain until you open it up and then it’s just kid-friendly all over the place! The drawer is great for accessories and shoes and all the crazy things children collect. Then I of course had to use all the available space-

and the grand finale´…….

…and Yes, I did draw that Scottie dog free-hand, thank you very much.

Please tell me you love it as much as I do… I don’t want to turn it in. I’ll let you know when the link is up for voting as I would certainly appreciate the help. 🙂

Thanks Laurie! Gracie is very disappointed it isn’t sticking around. She’s already requested I make another for her… never mind that she has one…

Scottie, it is soooo adorable. I’m sure your daughter is very disappointed. I love the way you used chalk paint to paint it and to create the chalk boards for those all important drawings and messages of love. I remember many many years ago making a dress up armoire out of a moving box for my neice. I painted it and cut doors and windows in it. It pales in comparison. WELL DONE!

Thank you Kathy! Boxes are the best! Brian made Gracie and Jack a house out of the box that our wine fridge came in once. He did the same thing, cut a door, made a welcome mat, a window…it lasted far longer and they both enjoyed it far more than either of us thought would be the case.
