Before and after sunburst

Forgive my absence. It’s been a whirlwind few months and we now have a very ill family member now on hospice. The adjustment is quite an experience and there seems to be something new every day. I’m working on trying to schedule everything to make sure nothing slips through the cracks…. we’ll see if I can pull it off I guess.

 

Anyway… I found a mirror at the thrift store the other day that needed some love. I happen to have gotten my hands on some Shabby Paints lately (a lot of Shabby Paints…. have you heard of them? I’m getting ahead of myself… more on that another day).

Anyway, I have seen lots of images on Pinterest of gold starburst mirrors, so why not?

I used layers…. First was Margarita (no, didn’t drink one too, we were out of tequila)… I topped it with Vibrant Gold Shimmer Glaze. That seemed a bit too bright to me, so I used a bit of Old Gold Shimmer Glaze to give it some age..

 

Not so bad… if I do say so myself.
